    The
    Way
    Through
    the Wonderful
    Fruit
    and
    Flower
    Garden
    of Southern
    California
. The cover features an attractive illustration of a train amid the citrus groves of Southern California. This theme is continued inside the booklet with a photographic depiction of an orange grove and a discussion of train travel to the abundant citrus areas of the San Gabriel and Pomona Valleys. It is suggested that one should take Southern Pacific’s Inside Track Flyer from Arcade Station at Fifth and Central Avenue in Los Angeles in order to view Southern California’s fruits and flowers. This train makes the “circuit of the orange belt” visiting such cities as Covina, Pomona, Ontario, Colton, Riverside, Redlands, and San Bernardino. Pages 12-13 have a map which shows the routes to these any other cities. The booklet has information sections for many of the cities and towns on the train routes, sometimes accompanied by photographs. Sections include: Pasadena, with photographs of some of its hotels, Alhambra, Puente, San Gabriel, Pomona, with a photograph of the Pomona Valley, Ontario, Chino, Cucamonga, Bloomington, Colton Highgrove, Riverside with a photograph of Magolia Avenue and the Glenwood Mission Inn, Loma Linda, with a photograph of a Victorian building, Redlands, with a photograph of Casa Loma, San Dimas, with a photograph of an orange grove, Lordsburg, San Bernardino, Arrowhead Springs and more. Information on rates is provided. A great look at the allure of the orchards and groves of Southern California over a century ago.
