    Reproduction of the badge granted starting from 13 October 1939, to members of U-boat crews who have completed at least two combat actions or completed two missions. The design was inspired by that of the First World War but changing the type of submarine depicted, and in 1957 the nascent Bundesmarine approved this model for war veterans returned to service.
    Award criteria:
    two completed operational missions or two combat actions;
    being injured or killed on a mission.
