Beautiful mug designed by the great ceramicist, Charlotte Rhead (1885-1947).
A M A Z I N G example of her infamous TUBELINER technique.
Tubeline - A technique of ceramic decoration where a thin line of clay is squeezed through a tube onto the ware being decorated.
This mug is a slightly off-white, almost antique white, or a very, very-light butter colour. You can see in all the images the beautiful result of the tubeliner technique. PLUS - the letters are all individually laid also using this technique. In addition, the small dots between each word are also raised, almost like a hob-nail design. AND, the squiggly line on the handle was created also using the tubeliner technique. You can feel every ridge and bump!

Condition:
In very good condition. NO chips. NO cracks. NO breaks. There is some very light and very small crazing on the outside of the mug. There are three smudges on the mug, all under the glazing - see pic 3. The inside is slightly darker with some light staining towards the bottom. Please, see images as they are part of the description.
