:   Using sponge bowls were common during the Victorian period.  Many kept their bathroom supplies such as sponge bowls, towel horses, washstands and chamber pots nearby in their bedroom.  This 3 piece sponge bowl set in the Ascot transfer pattern by Crown Ducal – England boasts a colorful Chintz floral in pink, blue and yellow with green foliage, brown and a creamy white interior.
Additional uses:  As a soap dish for holding a small block of soap.

Previously owned - used.  Overall good condition, consistent with age.  No cracks.  Chips are present; one ¼” chip on bowl, strainer is free of chips and cracks, Three small areas of nicks are present on underneath lip of lid (as shown).  Light spot on bottom, inside of bowl.
