Description
For auction is a Leitz LInhof Aristophot ,Microphotographic camera. An expert familiar with this camera was kind enough to provide the following information:"This is an 'early' version of the Aristophot III stand due to the design of the reflex head (tapered body that sits within the Linhof frame of the bellows). There are different lens adapter rings for the various lenses (Milar, Summar, and Photar, in order of degree of correction, Photars being the best)".
Depending on the selected objective, t
he user could select from a number of Illuminating and polarizing accessories that can be attached to this camera. Some of them quite elaborate. This "system is probably the most common configuration with the 4x5 camera". According to the individual familiar with this camera, "it appears to have a light excluding collar on the bottom of the shutter, so it was likely used in conjunction with a microscope that would have had a mating collar on the photo tube". He also said, "the leather in the folding Linhof viewing hood hasn't deteriorated, which is a chronic problem. Also both screens are original and intact".
