Rare Early 20th C CROWN DUCAL WARE Covered Dish - Verona Rose Pattern A26 Marked
Up for your consideration is this super rare covered dish by Crown Ducal Ware in early Verona pattern.  Truly a coveted collectible being one of the earliest patterns pre-1920.
Recently acquired from a fine estate, this little gem of fine porcelain china is in amazing good condition considering its age.  Surrounding the outside are roses, both single and potted along with gold leaf trim and accents.  It has one of the earliest backstamps (pre-1920) being based on an oval strap and buckle design, with a plumed crown at the top and a horizontal ribbon across the center. The graphic contains the words TRADE MARK within the strap, CROWN above the ribbon, DUCAL within the ribbon and WARE beneath the ribbon. Below the graphic is typically A.G.R & CO LTD ENGLAND. Above the graphic is the pattern name VERONA.
The dish is in excellent condition, with no crazing, cracks, or chips.  The gold trim has very minimal wear and the colors are vibrant.  The backstamp is defined and detailed.  On the other hand, the lid
does
have crazing and gold trim wear, although no chips or cracks.
The piece measures approximately 3 1/2" tall, base diameter of 3", mouth opening of dish is 3 1/2", widest point is 5" in center.
