Caption reads: R.A.F. reports on Italian Base - British announced today that R.A.F. bombers had raided Brindisi naval base at the heel of the Italian boot. The raid took place Tuesday night, the communique said. The British claimed bombs set fire to naval dockyard, destroyer and submarine pens, the main railway junction and railway siding. The above picture of the harbor was made prior to the war.
